FCI Time Capsule

The Greenville Federal Correctional Center held a special ceremony last week to open a time capsule that was closed 20 years ago.

The FCI opened in Greenville in November of 1994.

After the welcome by Warden Tom Werlich, Steve Bradley, FCI unit manager, spoke and led the opening of the time capsule, which had photos, letters, newspaper clippings, a St Louis Cardinals baseball, a FCI newsletter and other items about the FCI.

A new time capsule was brought out. The items in the old one were placed in the new one and a few other were added.

Helping with the opening of the old capsule, and showing the items to those gathered in the training center, were some of the 35 employees who have worked at the institution since it was activated in 1994.
