Keyesport Firefighters responded Friday morning, at 3:13, to a report of a fire in a garage at a residence on West Hays Street in Keyesport.
According to Fire Chief Jim Golder, the home owner was working on a 1995 Harley-Davidson motorcycle in a detached garage. Apparently when the owner tried to start the motorcycle, it caught fire. The owner controlled the fire with a garden hose and had the fire out when firefighters arrived. Firefighters cooled down the burned motorcycle and cleared smoke from the building. The motorcycle was a total loss and there was slight smoke damage to the garage.
There were no injuries and firefighters were on the scene about 45 minutes.
Mulberry Grove and Wheatfield Firefighters responded for automatic mutual aid but those calls were canceled enroute.
