The Greenville Lady Comets girl’s golf team is the champion of the South Central Conference.

Playing at the Indian Springs Golf Course in Van Burensburg Tuesday, the Lady Comets claimed the SCC title, beating the second place Staunton team by 26 strokes.

Senior Kayla Dannaman earned a spot on the all-conference team by finishing second overall individually with an 18-hole total of 87.

Head Coach Steve Dannaman said this year’s team consists of “a group of fantastic girls.” He said he told them in practice that they had a good shot at the top three in the conference.

The Lady Comets will play in the Class 1A regional tournament at the Spencer T. Olin Golf Course in Alton Wednesday, October 5.
