The Bond County Board of Health has learned that the anticipated sale of two acres of Health Department owned land adjacent to South Fourth Street would not be going through. A developer had planned to buy the land to build a memory care/Alzheimer’s care facility.
Health Department Administrator Mark Ayers told the board in their recent meeting that with another developer constructing a 22-bed specialty memory care community in Greenville, the developer that planned to buy the health department’s land didn’t feel he could compete and changed his mind about the sale.
