Person Of Interest Named In Bank Robbery

A person of interest has been identified in connection with the bank robbery that occurred at the Bank & Trust in Raymond Tuesday at noon.

Raymond Police, the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, and the Macoupin/Montgomery County Crimestoppers have announced that 34 year old James F. Williams, Jr., of the Springfield, IL area is a person of interest.

Authorities report a black male, 6’1″-6’2″ tall, 200+ pounds, with a tattoo on his left cheek allegedly robbed the bank in Raymond. He was dressed in light colored blue jeans, tan work boots, a white V-neck T-shirt and a black skull cap and was carrying a black and white plaid backpack.

Anyone with information on the case is asked to call the Crimestoppers at 1-800-352-0136. Tips can be anonymous and information leading to an arrest is eligible for a $1,000 reward.
