At Saturday’s Lemuel Rhodes Cancer Foundation’s Celebration of Life, WGEL Radio was honored for sponsoring the annual pie auction to raise funds for the foundation.
Darryl Bolen, a long-time participant in the pie auction, presented a certificate of appreciation to Station Manager Tom Kennedy.
Bolen pointed out that the auction has raised over $31,000 over the last three years. He thanked Kennedy for the promotion WGEL gives to good works throughout the community and praised the “benevolent spirit” of Bond County residents.
