For the past two weeks a water line project has been underway in Greenville, in an alley between Winter and Vine streets from Charles Street, west to Locust Street.
Bill Grider, Greenville public works director, said there was previously a one-inch line serving seven homes in the area. He said many of those lines were also galvanized pipes, which had corroded inside, restricting water pressure.
Crews replaced those lines with new six-inch lines, which should result in significantly improved pressure.
