The Greenville football Comets are 4 and 3 for the season after a 56 to 7 win at Staunton Friday night.
The Comets trailed 7-0 early in the game and then scored the next 56 points.
They led 14 to 7 after one quarter, 36 to 7 at halftime and 42 to 7 through three quarters.
GHS totaled 198 yards rushing and 80 yards passing for the night.
Running back Christian Moss had 129 yards on the ground, caught two passes for 33 yards and returned a punt 57 yards for a touchdown. He had three TD’s during the night.
Seth Moore scored the Comets first two touchdowns on short runs.
Also scoring were Drew Frey on a touchdown pass, and Jack Woods and Noah Walker on runs.
The Comet defense limited Staunton to 70 yards rushing and 88 yards passing.
Greenville High plays its final regular season home game Friday night against Gillespie. It will be senior night. Then the Comets will end the season on the road at Vandalia.
