The Greenville City Council and Bond County Board agree the condition of their dog pound is poor.
Discussions are beginning regarding what to do about it.
At the recent city council meeting, Mayor Alan Gaffner reported he met with County Board Chairman Howard Elmore to talk about the facility. He said one of the main concerns discussed is the size of the pound. Gaffner said Jim Hess, the Animal Control Officer, is doing a great job and is bringing in more lost pets and stray animals, which may necessitate a new, larger facility.
