Panthers Recognized By SLIAC


The St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference has recognized three Greenville College Panthers this week.

GC senior Savannah Sells, a Highland native, was named the SLIAC Defensive Volleyball Player of the Week after helping the panthers record a pair of wins.

Sells totaled 13 blocks in her two matches, averaging 1.86 blocks per set. She had a high of seven blocks in a win over Iowa Wesleyan including three solo stuffs. Sells also added 19 kills in the two matches, finishing with 27 total points. She is currently first in the SLIAC in total blocks with 99 and blocks per set.

GC senior Jacob Burrell received an honorable mention for finishing in the top ten at the Bradley Cross Country Classic, completing the course with a time of 26:39.

GC volleyball player Allyson Mitchell received an honorable mention for recording her 1,000th career kill during a win over Iowa Wesleyan and earlier in the week finished with 18 kills and 20 digs in a win over Rose-Hulman.
