Peggy A. Bitter

Peggy A. Bitter, age 73 of Highland, IL, died Saturday, October 01, 2016, at Highland Health Care Center in Highland, IL.

She was born on Wednesday, August 04, 1943, in Highland, IL, the daughter of Walter and Mollie (nee Brewer) Buehler.

On Sunday, March 20, 1966, she married Francis B. “Bud” Bitter at Carlyle, IL, who passed away on Wednesday, July 11, 2001.

She was a member of United Methodist Church, Pocahontas, IL and Trenton VFW Ladies Aux..

Peggy was born in Highland, reared in Trenton and was a 1962 graduate of Wesclin High School. She attended Belleville Business College, and worked at Wonder Bread. She later worked as an Aide at St. Joseph Hospital in Highland, then worked at Helvetia Nursing Home, and later at Highland Supply. She and her family moved to Texas for a few years and returned to Highland and worked for Laid Law School Bus Services as a Bus Aide for 11 years. She then worked for Community Care from Belleville, working with patients with disabilities. She enjoyed bingo, being with her friends, working on the computer and her cat “Lucky”.

Grandchild – Sean (Shaelynn Vallez) Runge, Pocatello, ID
Great Grandchild – Angela Claus
Great Grandchild – Jayden Tronson
Great Grandchild – Austin Runge

She was preceded in death by:
Father – Walter E. Buehler
Mother – Mollie A. Buehler nee Brewer
Husband – Francis B. “Bud” Bitter died 7/11/2001.

Arrangements are being handled by Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Monday, October 10, 2016, at Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL.

Funeral service will be at 11:00 AM on Monday, October 10, 2016, at Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL.

Interment will be at Trenton Cemetery in Trenton, IL.
