Special Olympics Flag Football


Special Olympics Illinois (SOILL) is hosting the third annual Flag Football tournament on Sunday, October 16, 2016 at the Trenton City Park. Fans are invited to experience the joy of achievement as 150 athletes compete representing 17 teams from 14 agencies across the state of Illinois.

Opening ceremonies begin at 10:45 a.m. with the colors being presented by the Trenton Knights of Columbus. Competition will begin at 11:00 a.m. when 6 divisions rival in 18 games across 4 fields. First place winners of each division will receive a trophy. Cheer alongside the Wesclin High School Cheerleaders at this event.

Special Olympics Illinois is a not-for-profit organization offering year-round training and competition in 19 sports for more than 22,000 athletes with intellectual disabilities and approximately 21,000 Young Athletes ages 2-7 with and without intellectual disabilities. Special Olympics transforms lives by empowering people with intellectual disabilities to realize their full potential in sports and in life. Special Olympics programs enhance physical fitness, motor skills, self-confidence, social skills and encourage family and community support.
