Council Candidates

Candidates for the upcoming Greenville City Council election are filing petitions this week and Monday.

There will be a race for mayor. Incumbent Alan Gaffner has filed to be a candidate for re-election and current councilman John Gillard is also seeking the mayor’s position.

Gillard’s councilman term does not conclude until 2019.

Two councilman seats will be filled by voters in the April 4 consolidated election.

They are currently held by Mike Heath and Roger Sanders.

As of noon Wednesday, three residents had filed petitions for councilman. They include Mike Heath, Kyle Littlefield and Karl Breehne.

Petitions must be filed with City Clerk Sue Ann Nelson.

The municipal building is closed Thursday and Friday for the Thanksgiving holiday.

The final day to file candidate petitions is Monday, November 28.
