Doris Carolina Lydia Klueter Beckmann, age 92, of Pocahontas, Illinois died at 11:55 p.m. Monday, November 14, 2016, in Edwardsville.
She was born October 24, 1924, on a small farm north of Edwardsville, Illinois the daughter of the late Fred & Ella (Stille) Klueter.
She grew up during the lean times of the depression, surrounded by a loving family of two older brothers, Norman & Raymond Klueter; and a twin sister, Dorothy Brockmeier; and grandparents and a host of loving aunts, uncles, and cousins.
She married Elmer W. Beckmann on October 23, 1949, at St. John’s United Church of Christ in Granite City. They remained devoted sweethearts for 52 years. Elmer preceded her in death on June 30, 2002. Although she had no children she remained a favorite Aunt to many nieces & nephews.
She was a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ in Granite City.
Visitation will be from 9 am until 11 am Saturday, November 19, 2016, at Weber & Rodney Funeral Home, 304 North Main Street, Edwardsville, Illinois. Services will follow at 11 am Saturday at the funeral home with Rev. Karla Frost officiating. Interment will follow at St. John’s Cemetery in Granite City.
