Illinois State Police out of District 18 are investigating a crash which occurred Tuesday, November 22 just after 11 PM on IL Rt. 16 in Macoupin County.
35 year old Audrey Schildroth, of Jerseyville, was westbound on Rt. 16 just east of Piasa Road when her vehicle left the road and struck the end of a guardrail. Schildroth was not wearing her seatbelt and was pinned within the vehicle. She was pronounced deceased on scene by the Macoupin County Coroner.
The Bunker Hill Fire Department and Ambulance, Shipman Fire Department, Medora Fire Department, Brighton Police Department, Macoupin County Sherriff’s Office, and Jersey County Coroner also assisted on the scene.
