Highland Veterans Events

From now through Monday, events are being held in Highland to honor veterans.

Jim Hobbs, commander of the Highland American Legion, said a free breakfast will be served to veterans Thursday starting at 7 AM at Highland High School. A program will follow in the gym at 7:45 AM. A special veteran’s assembly will be held Thursday at 1 PM at Highland Middle School. The Highland American Legion will host US Marine Corps birthday celebration Thursday at noon and again at 6 PM.

On Sunday at 1:30 PM, an assembly will be held at St. Paul’s Church in Highland, followed by the annual Veterans Day parade. The parade steps off at 2:30 PM and begins at St. Paul School. The parade ends on the town square where a ceremony will be held.

Veterans will be treated to a free breakfast Monday, November 14 from 7:30 to 9 AM at the VFW Hall in Highland. And St. Paul’s Church will host a mass Monday at 10 AM.

A Veteran’s Day parade is being held Friday at 6:30 PM in Edwardsville and all area veterans are invited to participate.
