Aces Fall In Close Game

The Mulberry Grove Aces lost a close game in the first round of the St. Elmo Holiday Tournament Tuesday night.

The Aces were beaten by Cowden Herrick/Beecher City 67 to 64.

Mulberry Grove led by three at halftime and expanded the margin to eight in the third frame. It was a two-point Aces’ lead going into the fourth quarter.

Cowden Herrick/Beecher City was able to rally for a three-point win.

Leading the Aces in scoring were Courtlyn Latham with 23 points and Zane Belcher with 15.

In the other tourney game Tuesday night, St. Elmo/Brownstown downed Clay City 91 to 19.

The Aces’ next game in the St. Elmo tournament is Thursday at 6:15 p.m. against Clay City.
