The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office and Montgomery County Coroner’s Office are investigating a suicide discovered by a passerby last Thursday.
On March 23rd at 11:43 p.m., the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Dispatch received a 911 call stating that a man was found hanging in the front yard of 30 Bluebird Lane in rural Litchfield. The caller had cut the man, later identified as 51 year old Jeffrey A. Jeffers, down and started CPR. Jeffers lived at the home on Bluebird Lane.
Within two minutes Litchfield Police Officers were on scene and took over CPR. Litchfield Area Ambulance and Fire Service also arrived on scene moments later. After a patient assessment Litchfield Area Ambulance requested the Montgomery County Coroner’s Office and Jeffers was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Department responded to investigate the scene and determined that Jeffers died of self-inflicted strangulation. Authorities report there was no evidence to indicate any criminal acts.
