Bond County Village Elections

The villages of Keyesport, Pocahontas and Mulberry Grove have new mayors or presidents after Tuesday’s consolidated election.

At Keyesport, Carl Brechner defeated incumbent Kenneth Carver 81 to 73 for the mayor’s post. The totals are the combination of Bond and Clinton county results.

At Pocahontas, Adam Evans is the new president. He received 113 votes to 83 votes for incumbent Karen Heilig and 42 votes for Mark Schellenger.

At Mulberry Grove, the new village president is Candice Widger, who defeated Edward Rickman 68 to 48.

For the three trustee openings at Mulberry Grove, Russell Widger led all candidates with 84 votes while incumbents James Blankenship and Cherie Henson were re-elected with 77 and 64 votes respectively.

Finishing fourth was Harold Thull with 60 votes.

There were five candidates for three trustee positions in Sorento.

Winners were Ray Schuster with 66 votes, Jimmy Thomas with 62 votes and Michael Williams with 58 votes.

Darrell Pagan was given 50 votes and Rosa Anthony had 21.
