Earlier this month, Lawrence Cooper, age 26, of Carlyle, was sentenced to the Illinois Department of Corrections after pleading guilty to charges stemming from a November home invasion.
Cooper was given 10 years for residential burglary and seven years for armed robbery and home invasion with a firearm. The terms will be served concurrently.
Cooper and a co-defendant, Blake Nottmeyer, were arrested on November 29, 2016 for allegedly breaking into a Carlyle residence, and taking items while carrying a firearm.
Nottmeyer, age 19 of Carlyle, remains in custody, pending the posting of bond, on six felony counts in connection with the incident.
