Former Greenville resident Rick Lallish has received a prestigious honor.
Lallish was recently given the Illinois Water Environment Association’s Kenneth Meredith Award.
The award goes to an individual who has performed duties above and beyond the usual employment requirements, so as to elevate the status of the wastewater plant operator and promote operator professionalism within the state.
Lallish is program director of water pollution control at the Environmental Resources Training Center at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville.
He is responsible for training hundreds of wastewater operators each year. Lallish has over 23 years experience in the wastewater field, including 14 years as an operator for the City of Greenville.
In addition to being with the Environmental Resources Training Center, he is the operator in charge of the SIUE wastewater treatment facility.
