Larry P. King, age 78 of Highland, IL, died Monday, May 22, 2017, at Anderson Hospital in Maryville, IL.

He was born September 11, 1938, in Palmdale, CA, the son of Lewis and Arminta (nee Messenger) King.

He was a member of Highland Hope United Methodist Church. He was also a former member of the Lions Club, and Alcoholics Anonymous.

Larry was born in Palmdale, CA. He moved to Decatur, IL and graduated from Stephen Decatur High School in 1956. He had a life long career as Production Manager for Publishing Companies like R.R. Donnelly & Sons and World Color Press. He got his teaching degree and taught English for a short time, until his health forced retirement. He was very active in Alcoholics Anonymous. He enjoyed gardening, growing roses, and was very musically inclined. He could play many instruments and loved playing music.

Arrangements are being handled by Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Thursday, May 25, 2017, at Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL.

Funeral service will be at 11:00 AM on Thursday, May 25, 2017, at Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL., with Rev. Dr. Beverly Wilkes Null officiating.

Private interment will be at Naylor Memorial Park Cemetery in Naylor, MO.

Memorial contributions may be made to Alcoholics Anonymous or Highland Hope United Methodist Church.
