Mulberry Grove Memorial Day

Mulberry Grove American Legion Post 1180 will begin its Memorial Day observance on Friday, May 26 by raising 42 flags around the village.

On Saturday, May 27, the post will place flags at every veteran’s grave in the Mulberry Grove, Taylor, and Noffsinger Cemeteries.

The Avenue of Flags, around the Village of Mulberry Grove, will be raised Sunday morning, May 28 at 8 AM, weather permitting. The 120 casket flags of deceased veterans that fly in the village have been donated by members of the veterans’ families.

A memorial service will be held at 2 PM Sunday, May 28 with an opening prayer, roll call, 21 gun salute, taps, and prayer.

Following the ceremony, the public is invited to help retire the Avenue of Flags.

Casket flags are only flown in Mulberry Grove on Memorial Day, Flag Day, Independence Day, and Veterans Day.
