New Holy Family Hospital Chapel

HSHS Holy Family Hospital in Greenville has announced plans for a new chapel in the hospital.

President & CEO Brian Nall told us the hospital follows the teaching of St. Francis, to heal body, mind, and spirit, while providing high-quality healthcare to all people. He said part of healing illness involves tending to the emotional and spiritual needs of patients, their families, and friends, and hospital staff.

Nall said technological advancements in the healthcare field made the new chapel possible. The chapel will be located in space formerly occupied by health records, which are now stored electronically.

Holy Family Hospital is conducting a fundraising effort in association with the new chapel. Nall said the hospital seeks to raise $100,000 of the $200,000 cost of the chapel. If you would like to donate, call 690-3410.

Along with the announcement of a new chapel, came a new position of Spiritual Care Manager. Kurt Simon has been with the hospital for around six months, providing psychological, emotional, and spiritual care to people of all ages during their period of illness or injury and the hospital staff.
