Beverly A. “Peppy” Von Hatten, age 83, of Breese, born January 11, 1934 in Carlyle, a daughter of the late Charles and Mabel, nee Carman, Tune, died Friday, June 30, 2017 at Breese Nursing Home.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband John Von Hatten whom she married October 22, 1955 at St. Francis Catholic Church in Aviston and he died January 28, 2001; a brother, Claude Tune; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Edward Von Hatten and wife Irene, Victor Von Hatten and wives Agnes and Johanna, Lawrence Von Hatten and wife Dorothy, Louis Von Hatten, and Frances Meyer and husband Ray.
Surviving is a daughter, Denise (Mike “Mac”) McAllister of Breese; 2 grandsons, Ryan (Cambrin) McAllister and Kevin (Alexis) McAllister all of Aviston; 3 great-grandchildren, Myla, Caleb, and Coy McAllister; a sister, Anita (Roland Johnson) Berner of Highland; a brother, Charles “Squeak” (Patricia) Tune of Aviston; sisters-in-law, Mary Tune of Belleville and Charlotte Von Hatten of Decatur; a special niece, Jeanette (Dan) Huelsmann of Breese; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Peppy retired after 27 years as a secretary at Mater Dei High School in Breese. She was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church and Altar Sodality in Breese and Concordia Saengerchor. She enjoyed playing cards, bingo and going to the casino.
Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, July 3, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Breese with Fr. Chuck Tuttle presiding. Interment will follow in St. Dominic/St. Augustine Cemetery, Breese.
Visitation will be Monday, July 3, 2017 from 8:30-10:45 a.m. at Moss Funeral Home in Breese.
Memorials may be made to Mater Dei High School, Celtic Hospice, or to the St. Joseph’s Hospital Auxiliary Lights for Scholarship and will be received at the funeral home.
