A big celebration to commemorate Bond County’s Bicentennial is Saturday and Sunday in downtown Greenville.
John Coleman, bicentennial committee chairman, hopes residents from throughout the area will come to the event. He reminds the community that there is something for everyone at the Bicentennial including concerts, fireworks, the family fun area, and the parade and all are free.

Food and drinks will be for sale.
The festivities begin at 4 p.m. Saturday, until about 10 p.m. Sunday’s activities begin at noon with the opening ceremony at 1 p.m.
Sunday night, a firework’s display will be presented, courtesy of the Bond County Fourth Fest organization.
Visitors are encouraged to bring lawn chairs for the celebration. The main stage will be at the intersection of Second and Main streets.
