Davis On Shooting Incident

Congressman Rodney Davis

Illinois Representative Rodney Davis was among the Congressman who were on the baseball field when a man started shooting Wednesday morning.

Davis was not injured, however five persons were shot.

Davis said he was up to bat when he heard shots fired. He initially thought the sound might have come from a nearby construction site. He said a colleague yelled “Run, he’s got a gun!” and he did just that. Davis said he ran across the street and into an apartment building where he called 911 and his family.
