Noah Matthews, a recent graduate of Greenville High School, was co-MVP at the Grace Cup all-star soccer game held in Raymond Saturday.
Jordan Leihser of Greenville also played.
Thr third annual Grace Cup raised $1,178 for the research of infantile neuroaxonal dystrophy. The Grace Cup is named for five-year-old Grace Herschelman, who has the rare genetic condition.
Matthews and Leihser played for the Blue team, which won 5 to 2.
Matthews was goalie and made several big saves throughout the game, leading to him sharing most valuable player honors with Drew Ratliff of Roxana.
Both former Comets will be playing soccer this fall at the college level. Leihser will be at Blackburn College and Matthews will play for Greenville University.
