A Farina man pled guilty in Fayette County Circuit Court, earlier this month, to a felony charge of predatory criminal sexual assault.
Larry Sapp, age 52, was sentenced to 11 ½ years in the Illinois Department of Corrections.
As part of the plea negotiations, two other charges of predatory criminal sexual assault were dismissed by the state.
The crime occurred between November 1, 2015 and February 1, 2016. The victim was a girl under 13 years of age.
Upon finishing the prison sentence, Sapp will be on mandatory supervised release for three years to life. He must register as a sex offender the rest of his life.
