William “Bill” Dean Bryant, age 83 of Maryville, Illinois and formerly of Greenville, passed away Friday evening, June 23, 2017 at Barnes Hospital, St. Louis, Missouri.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 27, at the Donnell – Wiegand Funeral Home in Greenville with Rev. Wendell Garrison officiating. Interment will follow in Duncan Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:30 – 8:00 p.m. Monday at the Donnell – Wiegand Funeral Home in Greenville. Memorials may be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
William Dean, the son of Rev. Silas B. and Mary Eda (Linton) Bryant was born February 19, 1934 in Bond County. He grew up in Bond County, attended the locals schools and graduated from Greenville High School with the class of 1952. Mr. Bryant worked at Pet Milk in Greenville and then spent over 30 years at Rogers Cartage Company. After his retirement from Rogers, Bill worked 20 years at Truck Centers in Troy, Illinois.
Bill and Betty Lou Siebert were united in marriage on September 5, 1954. They were married in Mulberry Grove, Illinois by Rev. Dallas Nuby. They have enjoyed 62 years together. Surviving are their children: Sue E. Haverman of St. Louis, Missouri, Kimberly Ann Metcalf and husband Steve of Troy, Illinois, Michael Bryant and wife Janelle of Collinsville, Illinois and Brian Keith Bryant and wife Debbie of Freeburg, Illinois. Loving grandfather of 8; Amie Burke and husband Mike, Becky Lowe, Tim Haverman and wife Meagan, Christopher Metcalf and wife Audrey, Andrea Metcalf and fiancé Mike Lewis, Jenna Metcalf and significant Kristopher Fohne, Jaryn Bryant and Tyler William Bryant, 3 great-grandchildren: Blake, Alex and Claire.
William was the last of his generation, preceded in death by his siblings: Bobby L. Bryant, Eugene “Gene” Bryant and Betty Stipcak. He is survived by a sister-in-law Pam Bryant.
