William P. Winter, age 66 of Carlyle, passed away at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis on Friday, June 9, 2017.
Mr. Winter was born in Breese on September 22, 1950, a son of Paul and Evelyn (Spitz) Winter. He married Mary Dinwiddie on September 21, 1974, in Carlyle and she survives in Carlyle.
In addition to his wife Mary, Bill is also survived by his daughter – Elizabeth Tolley and husband Jason of Carlyle; 2 grandsons – Brian and Mason Tolley; 3 brothers – Thomas Winter of St. Louis, Don Winter and wife Darlene of Ashley, and Jerry Winter and wife Betty of Kinmundy; a brother-in-law – Dennis Kennett of Trenton; a sister-in-law – Gladys Stephens and husband Don of Charleston; his nieces and nephews – Shannon Winter, Kristen Simpson and husband Mike, Kelly Winter, Michael Winter, and Wendy Hampton and husband Jonathan; his great niece and nephews – Evan Simpson, Viviana Simpson, and Kayin Hampton; and his very close friend and brother – Dennis Wuebbles.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister – Marie Kennett.
Mr. Winter was a carpenter and co-owner of W&W Videos in Carlyle. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and he loved spending time with his daughter, son-in-law, and grandchildren.
In keeping with Mr. Winter’s wishes, there will be no funeral services.
