Gordon Rogers, former teacher and coach at Greenville High School, died on May 21 in Macomb. He was 91.
A memorial service will be held in Tinley Park on Saturday afternoon.
Gordon Rogers formerly lived in Greenville, Tinley Park and Vero Beach, Florida.
He coached baseball at Greenville High from 1955 to 1965 and had a record of 77 wins, 62 losses and 2 ties. His teams won two regional championships.
As Comets’ head boys’ basketball coach for 10 seasons, his teams won 170 games and lost 94. He won five basketball regional titles and his 1959-60 team reached the Sweet 16.
Coach Rogers was the grand marshal of the GHS homecoming parade last fall.
