Health Board Finances

In Monday’s Bond County Board of Health meeting Monday, representatives of the firm Scheffel Boyle discussed the county’s fiscal year 2016 audit. Auditors noted the health department has implemented policies and procedures to further improve financial controls and recommended the department continue to focus on elimination of the deficit in the mental health fund.

Hospice and Home Health Directors, Betsy Mueller and Jamie Derrick presented information to the board regarding referral volume and referral sources for their respective programs. Their reports indicated a wide range of referral sources and an increased census.

Health Department Administrator Sean Eifert reported improvements in the health department’s dental clinic, with three dentists now serving patients with improved quality and productivity. The health department’s dental clinic saw 291 total patients in August.

Eifert presented the financial statements, indicating that August cash on hand has increased approximately $29,500 from July. He stated there have been no significant changes in the overall financial position of the health department over the past several months.

Eifert also reported the recertification of the health department has officially been completed, with the department now certified by the Illinois Department of Public Health until November, 2021.
