Bids Accepted For KPD Pool Work

The Kingsbury Park District is seeking bids for work at its swimming pool.

Bids will be opened on October 25.

Work will include constructing a lifeguard/concession/control building and family changing area, fencing, replacement of concrete and installation of a splash pad with lighting.

At Tuesday night’s meeting, the park board approved a contract with Chester Pools to do specific work at a price of $126,300. The current pool is a Chester Pool and the company has all the necessary parts to be installed.

Park District Director Jerry Sauerwein said Chester Pools will install return pipes and then, after concrete work has been done, they will install the liner system.

The motion for the contact with Chester Pools was approved by Scott Crothers, Barbara Smith and Louanne Thies. Jose Lirios and Tommy Simpson were absent.

The board went into executive session at the end of the meeting. Board Chairman Crothers said it was for a discussion of replacement of a board member and there would be no action following the closed session.
