Breuchaud Retires As Basketball Ref

Stan Breuchaud of Greenville has been a familiar face on area basketball courts for over 4 decades.

Last week, he refereed girls’ games at Greenville Junior High, and then made the tough decision that his 44th year of officiating had to come to an end.

While he really didn’t really want to give it up, Stan retired due to knee and hip problems.

Breuchaud will continue to be a part of the game in other ways.

Breuchaud has officiated basketball games for youth teams through colleges.

He was asked about some of his career highlights.

Stan will continue to be a baseball umpire and has done games this fall.
