City Council Approves Road Work

Asphalting roads was the topic of conversation when the Greenville City Council met in special session Friday afternoon.

The council approved a change order with Christ Brothers, adding $50,472 to the road program for a total cost of $289,266.

Asphalt work, which has almost been completed, now includes Maple and Locust streets. South Street, from Elm to Charles, was eliminated from this year’s program.

The council also approved the installation of new asphalt driveway aprons with depressed curbs for houses along Killarney and Butternut drives and Maple Street. That work will cost $59,862.
