The Comets football team won this last Friday night at Gillespie to improve to 6-2 on the season. The Comets jumped out to a 40-0 lead by halftime and the game ended 46-12. Christian Moss ran for 5 TDs and 265 yards in the first half, Moss and much of the first team offense didn’t play in the second half.

Comet defense also played very well, scoring two defensive touchdowns, both by Stephen Schaefer. Next up for the Comets is Carlinville this Friday night at Don Stout field. Carlinville will come into the game undefeated. Friday is the last game of the regular season and will have a big impact on the playoff pairings for Greenville. A 7-2 record is likely to have a first round home game, and a 6-3 record is more likely to be a first round road game. You can hear the game live here on WGEL Radio and streaming at WGEL.com.
