County Board Talks Insurance, Fayco Levy Rate

Insurance was one of the main topics of discussion at this (Tuesday) morning’s Bond County Board meeting.

Board members were presented a dividend check from their insurance provider, Snedeker Risk Management, in the amount of $10,046.44.

The board voted unanimously to renew their property, casualty, and liability insurance with Snedeker in the amount of $250,582, an increase of 1.54% over the previous year.

Jeremy Pestle of the Bond County Highway Department told the board 90% of the New Douglas Bridge has been removed and the project is on schedule at this point. The highway department closed New Douglas Avenue from Griffiths Road to Elevator Road for the bridge replacement projects in mid-September.

Kim Taylor, with Fayco, reported the Fayco board would like to request an increase in their maximum levy rate, which is currently .024. They would like to request an increase to .04. Board members said they would need to look into the possibility.
