Saturday has been declared Drug Take-Back Day by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration.
According to Greenville Police Sergeant Deb Keserauskis, every day is drug take-back day at the department as a container is always available. She said you can bring medication to the Police Department lobby and drop them in the box. No information is required.

Sgt. Keserauskis said the box is regularly used by area residents and eventually the drugs go to the DEA.

Residents are invited to drop off unwanted or expired prescription or over-the-counter drugs at any time.
Medicines that languish in home cabinets are highly susceptible to diversion, misuse and abuse.
Studies show a majority of abused prescription drugs are obtained from family and friends, including from the home medicine cabinet.
Many area police departments are participating in Drug Take-Back Day including the Madison County Sheriff’s Department and Highland Police.
