Edith Lucille York, 91, of Highland, IL, died Monday, October 2, 2017, at her residence.
Edith was born October 15,1925, to James William Gibbs and Ida Pearl (nee Hoover) Gibbs, in Norfolk, NE. On December 10, 1945, she married William “Bill” York, in Highland, IL.
She was an awesome Mom, Grandma, Great-Grandma and Great-Great-Grandma. A good Christian woman, Lucille was sweet, kind-hearted and a good listener. She loved jig-saw puzzles, crossword puzzles and soduko. Lucille loved being around her family, going out to eat and buying Christmas presents. She made a lot of gifts for all the family. She will be dearly missed.
She is survived by her children, Jim (Pam) York, Bowling Green, KY, Jack York, Highland, IL, Janet (Bill) Burrell, Highland, IL, JoAnn (Lonnie Sr.) Cleveland, Belleville, IL, Judy (Dave) Alvey, Troy, IL; daughter-in-law, Debbie York, The Villages, FL; grandchildren, Phyllis (Jeff) Bartley, Paula York, Dennis York, Colleen (Kelly) Evans, Brian (Carmen) York, Brad York, Rob (Sandi) Hubert, Amber (Kevin) Fox, Lonnie (Julie) Cleveland Jr., Charlie (Missy) Cleveland, Roger (significant other, Tina Knuckles) Cleveland, Angie (Steve) Walters, Jennifer (Kane) Freeman, Jaime Alvey, Mandy Forrest, Nicki Alvey; 28 Great-Grandchildren and 2 Great-Great Grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Ida Gibbs; her husband, William “Bill” York; a son, Jerry York; a grandson, Rodney Hubert.
