Eversgerd With Cardinals


Bryan Eversgerd is back in the big leagues.

The Carlyle High School graduate has been named the new bullpen coach for the St. Louis Cardinals.

After playing baseball for Carlyle High School, Eversgerd pitched two years at Kaskaskia College. He attended a Cardinals’ tryout the summer of 1989 and was signed by the major league team.

Eversgerd pitched for the Cardinals, Montreal and Texas over four seasons from 1994 to 1998.

He has been a pitching coach in the Cardinals’ organization for 15 years, spending the last five at Triple-A Memphis.

Eversgerd still lives in the Carlyle area with his wife. They have two children, a son who is a senior at Carlyle High School, and a daughter who is in college.
