Geraldine Florence Pruitt, age 88 of Greenville, passed away at 11:54 a.m. Friday, October 6, 2017 in Hitz Home, Alhambra, Illinois.
Memorial services will be held at 11:30 a.m. next Tuesday, October 17, 2017 at the Mt. Gilead Church with his granddaughter Dr. Shani Golovay and Dr. Ward Sussenbach officiating. Interment will follow in Mt.Gilead Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Church from 10 a.m. Tuesday until service time. Memorials in Geraldine’s memory may be made to the Mt.Gilead Cemetery or the Bond County Hospice at the Church or at Donnell – Wiegand Funeral Home in Greenville.
Geraldine Florence Scott, the daughter of George and Ruth Scott was born on January 3, 1929 in Frederickstown, MO. In her youth the Scott family moved to the farm north of Greenville on the Red Ball Trail where Geraldine grew up and attended the local schools.
Geraldine and Clyde John Pruitt were united in marriage on January 24, 1948 by Dallas Newby and enjoyed over 68 years together before his death on September 19, 2016. They are the parents of two children who survive, Joe Pruitt of north of Greenville, Karen (Berry) File of Greenville, 4 grandchildren: Shani Golovay, Mindy (Justin) Jefferson, Angelia (Dan) Deiters, Scott (Melissa) Pruitt, and 12 great-grandchildren: Elusha, Yoseph, Esaiah, Ada, Titus, Lukas, Ezra Lucille, Brendan, Chase, Brady, Ryder, and Wyatt. Geraldine is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Clyde, and brother Narvel Scott.
Geraldine was a 4 H leader, active in Bible studies, an avid reader, and a faithful member of her Church, the Greenville First Christian Church.
