A Greenville man and a passenger were injured in an accident on Interstate 70 early Tuesday morning.
Illinois State Police report a single vehicle accident at 1:11 a.m. Tuesday, on Interstate 70, at Prairie Road. According to information from the Illinois State Police, Paul Schmidt, driver of the car, apparently fell asleep and passengers could not wake him. The car ran off the right side of the road, hit a culvert, and overturned.
Paul Schmidt and a passenger James Keaster were taken to HSHS St. Joseph’s Hospital in Highland.
The other two passengers were not injured.
