The South Central Conference tennis tournament was Saturday, October 7, in Greenville. Team results found Greenville and Hillsboro tied for First Place with 6 points each while Roxana took second with 4 points. Greenville’s Mathea Kurtz-Shaw and Hillsboro’s Kyra Huber made all-conference in singles. Huber beat Kurtz-Shaw for first, Kurtz-Shaw was second, and Chloe Schaufelberger from Greenville claimed third. The Greenville doubles team of Aly Ahern and Sarah Brannon beat entries from Hillsboro and Roxana to place third, earning 2 valuable points for the home team.
The Junior Varsity Lady Comets tennis team completed their season Friday, losing to the Teutopolis Wooden Shoes 6-3. Singles winners were Danielle Brand and Taina Estevez. The doubles team of Brand and Estevez won their match.
