The Mulberry Grove Board of Education met Monday. In the treasurer’s report, Superintendent Brad Turner said fund balances look good. The district got general state aid payments for August and September but no categorical state aid payments yet for transportation and special education.
The Board approved construction of a gently sloping ramp at the north end of the elementary wing replacing the current steps. Also included in the project is the extension of the sidewalk along the east side of the elementary school to meet the new ramp at the north end. Superintendent Turner said the work should be completed in about a month weather permitting.
The Board approved the request of Ag Teacher Matt Elam to take six FFA members to the National FFA Convention the last week of October in Indianapolis.
Turner distributed copies of the district audit report to board members. The report shows no findings which means the audit is in good shape and district personnel are doing well financially. The Board approved the audit.
Following a closed session, the Board hired Randy Dugan transportation director for the remainder of the current school year and accepted a letter of retirement from custodian Terri Gannon effective June 30, 2018.
