A fire occurred at Plant Land Garden Center between Breese and Beckemeyer Friday evening.
Beckemeyer Fire Chief Luke Baker said a skid steer vehicle, parked outside a metal building, apparently caught fire and the flames spread to the building.
Chief Baker said the fire burned the skid steer unit and the top of the building. He estimated damage at $20,000.
The business was closed when the fire broke out.
The chief reported firemen were able to knock down the fire in about 45 minutes. He said equipment inside the building was not damaged, but there were some materials that burned.
According to Chief Baker, firemen were on the scene about three hours, putting out the fire and removing items from the building.
Beckemeyer firemen received mutual aid assistance from the Breese, Bartelso, Carlyle and Germantown fire departments and the Clinton County Emergency Management Agency. Aviston firemen covered the Beckemeyer station during the call.
