Reitz Retires As County Clerk

Bond County Clerk Randy Reitz

September 30 was the final day for Randy Reitz as the Bond County clerk and recorder.

After 23 years in the position, Reitz decided to retire in order to spend more time with his family. His replacement, Meg Sybert, was sworn in on October 2.

Reitz was appointed county clerk in June of 1995, following the death of Eldon Roe. He was then elected several times by the voters.

While the county clerk records many county statistics, Reitz always took a special pride in running local elections.
