Rosemary L. Holzinger, age 86 of Highland, IL, died Tuesday, October 31, 2017, at Legacy Place in Highland, IL.

She was born on Saturday, November 22, 1930, in Highland, IL, the daughter of Edgar and Rose (nee Koch) Holzinger.

She was a member of Saint Paul Catholic Church, Highland, IL; 1st Parish Council ; Former member of St. Anne Altar Society ; Highland Business and Professional Women’s Club ; Highland Women’s Club ; Ladies Bowling League in Highland and Grantfork ; Volunteer at Highland Chamber of Commerce Office ; Volunteer at St. Paul Kirchenfest ; Weekly Prayer Volunteer at St. Joseph Hospital Chapel.

Rosemary was born in Highland. She attended St. Paul Grade School and graduated from St. Paul High School 1948 to start her career in banking with The First National Bank of Highland, which is now known as US Bank. She attended night classes at The American Institute of Banking in St. Louis, she had the opportunity to advance in her career and retire as a Vice-President and Cashier after 46 years. During those years, she scheduled her vacations to enjoy many scenic trips with relatives and friends. Following retirement, she was a volunteer at the Highland Chamber of Commerce office, for a weekly prayer hour at St. Joseph Hospital Chapel, and the annual St. Paul Kirchenfest. Rosemary enjoyed spending time with her niece’s & nephew’s children because they kept her active and young in heart so she could enjoy cruises to Hawaii and many guided bus tours to create memories for her senior years. Her free time was spent maintaining her home, vegetable and flower gardening, reading, sewing, crocheting, walking, cooking and baking on special occasions for family or friends.

Arrangements are being handled by Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL.

Visitation will be held from 8:00 AM to 9:45 AM on Thursday, November 02, 2017, at Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL.

Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 AM on Thursday, November 02, 2017, at Saint Paul Catholic Church in Highland, IL., with Rev. Father Pat G. Jakel, Pastor, officiating.

Interment will be at Saint Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Highland, IL.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul School Educational Foundation or St. Vincent DePaul Society.
