The Greenville Lady Comets won their opening match in the Roxana Regional Monday night.
The Lady Comets beat East Alton-Wood River 25-14, 25-15.
Individual leaders were Ally Cantrill with 11 kills, 8 serve receptions and 10 passes; Allyson Haberer with 6 service points and 7 assists, Madison Gerdes with 12 assists, Nancy Fritzsche with 6 kills, and Lauren Meadows with 12 passes.
Gerdes, Kalie Meadows and Mara Caldieraro had four service points each; Nia Ephron and Fritzsche posted 2 blocks each, and Lauren Meadows and Caldieraro had 5 serve receptions each.
The Lady Comets play in the regional semifinals Tuesday, going up against Roxana at 6:30 p.m.
The winner advances to Thursday night’s championship match at Roxana.
Greenville is the fifth seed and Roxana is seeded 4th in the sectional complex.
