AMVETS Post 140 20th Annual Veterans Day Ceremony

The AMVETS Post 140 20th annual Veterans Day ceremony is Saturday, November 11, at 11:00 a.m., in the First United Methodist Church on Second Street in Greenville.

If the weather is exceptionally good, the ceremony will be at the Veterans Memorial on the Courthouse Lawn.

John Gillard will offer the opening prayer, area veterans will post the colors, the high school and elementary school choruses will perform, and Boy Scout Troop 57 will lead the Pledge of Allegiance. Guest speaker for the ceremony is Brother Darryl Bolen.

The program will end with a benediction by Rev. Wayne Pierce, a 21 gun salute, and Taps, in memory of deceased veterans from the Bond County area.
